JAMIE SALTER - OWNER

As an accredited and insured Strength and Conditioning coach and Sport Scientist I have extensive experience of physical preparation of athletes, from a wide variety of environments and sports. Initially starting as a multi-sports and football coach, but I soon realised my passion was around developing athletic qualities to help individuals realise their potential. I have a strong philosophy based on developing a relaxed, but focused environment that enables young individuals to develop their physical competency for whatever their sport or goal. Each Athlete Discovery session and programme is bespoke and underpinned by the fundamental movements of athletic actions to reduce injury and enhance performance and progressed only when sufficient movement competency is achieved.

EXPERIENCE

Previously, I have worked in professional football and rugby league with both youth and adult athletes. I have in worked in physical preparation roles at Barnsley FC, Middlesbrough FC and York City Knights RLFC whilst working with various athletes on an ad-hoc basis for many years. Alongside applied experience, I have spent most of my career in education as a lecturer in further and higher education environments. I am currently a Lecturer at York St John University where I deliver theory and practical based sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the areas of injury prevention, rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. I have presented at several major international conferences and I am a current PhD candidate researching how maturation impacts responses to training load and injury in elite youth football.
